In 2015, Khalil Alamour, a teacher, a lawyer and co-director of the Alhuquq Center for Human Rights, spoke to us in Frensham about the plight of the Israeli Bedouin in the Negev.  A relentless activist for justice, he is currently on a speaking tour in the UK arranged jointly between ICAHD UK and Amnesty International.  Due to an unexpected change in his schedule, he will be staying in Frensham next week.

We plan, at short notice, to offer him the opportunity to update us on the situation in Umm al Hiran, the Bedouin village he told us about 3 years ago.  Founded in 1956 and slated for demolition to make way for a Jewish-only town, to be called ‘Hiran’, it is one of a number of villages under threat.

​We have heard recently the terrible news from Gaza.  But others in the region have stories to tell, and the media is barely taking notice.  Protests without violence apparently don’t make exciting headlines.
