We are pleased to invite you to an event in Guildford on Wednesday 29 November entitled: "Palestine: more than black and white"  Local photographer James Jagger and teacher Millie Badman-Smith visited the West Bank last summer as part of a creative arts team. They will talk about their experiences and show some striking images of life in the refugee camps around Bethlehem. You can find further details in the attached flyer.
There will also be the opportunity to purchase some special Christmas gifts from the Zaytoun stall. We do hope that you will be able to attend. Wednesday, 29 November 2017, 7.30pm St Nicolas Church Hall, Bury Street, Guildford GU2 4AW Local photographer James Jagger and teacher Millie Badman-Smith travelled to the West Bank in summer 2017 with the Amos Trust, an organisation that seeks “to bring justice and hope for the forgotten”. They were part of a creative arts team of 27 people, living and documenting life in the refugee camps in and around Bethlehem. Whilst James oversaw a team of photographers whose task was to capture images depicting life in the cramped conditions of the refugee camps, Millie was part of a team teaching dance to the refugee children, culminating in a public performance on the final day. Living and working with the Palestinian refugees was inspirational. Despite the many hardships of life under Israeli occupation, they remain hopeful of a better future in which they enjoy peace, justice and the opportunity to live a fulfilled life. Please join us to hear James and Millie talk about their unforgettable experiences and show us some striking images. (Zaytoun produce from Palestine such as olive oil, dates and almonds will also be on sale.)
